I find it difficult to write a narrative account without the voice of Carrie Bradshaw popping into my head, pushing me to incorporate silly puns, stare off into the distance (while making squinty faces) in an attempt to look like I'm pondering about something deep, and finally say, "I couldn't help but wonder...", then filling in the blank with a trivial rhetorical question.
So, yeah, I'm not going to do that.
The reason for the resurgence of my blogging career, after my wildly successful academic blog that aggregated about 100 page views (all which were my professors and myself), is because I have decided to pack up everything and drive across/around the country!
For the past few years, and due to heavy viewing of Food Network and Travel Channel, my significant other and I have been traveling to various US cities and re-creating Man v Food episodes. Of course it's totally awesome, but perhaps not as fortunate for the waistline. Thus, about a year ago, we decided take our travels to the extreme and eat/backcountry camp our way around the perimeter (and then some) of the good ol' USA. Ah, to think--burgers and bears, tacos and tents, sushi and swimming holes.
After much planning, or not, the loose itinerary is set and the day is almost here! What is left of my belongings have been stowed away in a large vacuum sealed bag, and only the remnants of a once a cozy Brooklyn apartment remain. And I couldn't help but wonder, in a city that doesn't sleep--how are there so many dreamers? (damn you SATC).
First stop, Cooperstown, NY!!!
