I'm back, back in the New York groove!

This could quite possibly be the most overdue post—ever! However, we didn’t disappear off the face of the earth, and did in fact finish our journey back in the Big Apple.

As I had mentioned before, the last leg of the journey was accomplished in a matter of days—versus the months it took to get through the north, west and southwest. Considering we maybe had, oh, $200 left to get us to NYC after Charleston, it was great to stay with family (and eat Iwona's famous pierogi free of charge)!

After saying good-bye to the coolest girl in Charleston, SC, we were north-bound to visit the coolest guy in Raleigh, NC … we know A LOT of cool people. There, we were welcomed with a home cooked meal.  And since apparently we were going for a “5,000 calories in less than 24 hours record”, it definitely did not stop there. We woke up the next day and went to a killer wing spot, after which we picked up BBQ from the legendary Raleigh staple “The Pit,” and then went to the original Krispy Kreme to watch freshly fried goodness come off the conveyer belt and into our stomachs.

Our amazing host treated us to great food, friends, a downtown tour, and even a movie theater with (you’re never going to guess)—more food!

We continued north towards Maryland, just as Thanksgiving was approaching. After tricking my mother for days saying we were thousands of miles away, we nearly gave her a heart attack when we snuck through the back door and screamed “SURPRISE!” She did eventually forgive us, key word being eventually.

Back at home we took a week to enjoy it all! And for free! We went to a “Brosgiving” and ran into these characters.

We also got a chance to catch up with my wonderful friends; one who was newly pregnant. And it has been so long, that she has already given birth to the most precious little girl! We also got a chance to do something I never had in all of my years living in Washington DC—actually be a tourist!

However, after enjoying endless pierogi and an amazing Thanksgiving, we had to keep trekking to our origin. But not before a quick detour to Baltimore, where Mr. CPA himself hosted us to a college reunion!

And just like that we took 95, to the NJTP to the Verrazano Bridge to the BQE, to the LIE and we were at the exact location we left from!

We got to enjoy belated birthdays, Christmas, and New Years with the most amazing family! And they are still enjoying us (looovveee you guys).

This truly was the craziest and most amazing thing I have ever done. It was a journey, a challenge, an adventure, and everything else you could possibly think of. Any regrets? None. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!

So what could be in store next? Poland — Summer 2014.

COMING SOON! (seriously...)
